Today is a very special day: 55 years after Harper Lee released her world famous (and only!) novel To Kill a Mockingbird, and after swearing she will never release another one, we are happy to see another novel from this iconic writer. It was released today and called Go Set a Watchman. It was actually written in the mid-1950s and even submited to publishers before To Kill a Mockingbird. Somehow it got lost but luckily the manuscript was discovered in late 2014.
Go Set a Watchman features many of the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird some twenty years later so you will be familiar with most of them. There’s Scout returning to Maycomb to visit her father where she has to deal with issues both personal and political, involving Atticus, society, and the small Alabama town that shaped her. Be prepared to be shocked though.
